Tobias Vervliet

Tobias Vervliet is researcher at SEO Amsterdam Economics. Graduated in econometrics he has up-to-date knowledge about micro-econometric research techniques and has experience with working with both panel data and micro data.

Given his background in econometrics and in combination with working experience in the field of economic policy and research, Tobias complements the research team of the Labour markets cluster. He is mainly involved in the evaluation of the economic effects of labour market policies.

After his graduation Tobias worked as a researcher at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, in the department of Competition & Regulation. He was primarily working on a research in the sector for mental health care. This paper studies how mental health care providers accommodate their treatment duration after being confronted by a large shock in demand. Besides, he contributed to the economic forecasts of health care expenditures.

Tobias completed the Master Econometrics, Operations Research & Actuarial Studies at the University of Groningen. During his internship at the Dutch Central Bank he wrote his Master Thesis about bank profitability and risk-taking under low interest rates during, which has later been published in an academic journal.
