SEO's Health Care and Social Security section conducts research in the fields of healthcare and social security, carrying out various kinds of analyses.

1. Market analyses; these focus on the questions what kind and what degree of government intervention leads to the best outcomes in health care and social security.
2. Evaluation, effectiveness and cost-benefit studies.
3. Research into budgeting and costing systems.
4. Explanations, forecasts and simulations.
5. Measurements of consumer preferences.

These are applied to health services and the entire spectrum of social security, including pensions. The section has particular expertise in employment services.
