Introduction
The Regions, Business and Infrastructure (RBI) Section carries out research in three fields:
- regional economy
- business sector analysis
- public sector investment
Our people
Our section has a broad range of expertise in economics, econometrics and business administration. Our staff have specialized knowledge of business sector research and social cost/ benefit analysis.
Section head Carl Koopmans is also Professor of Infrastructure and Economics at VU University Amsterdam. He is a recognized authority in the field of cost/benefit analysis. He has also done research into spatial policy, energy and the labour market.
Peter Risseeuw is senior project manager. He has been involved in research into the business services sector and manufacturing industries for more than 20 years. He also carries out regional economic research.
Michiel de Nooij is senior researcher. He studied Economics at Tilburg University and completed the masters program of the research school (CentER). He specializes amongst others in energy and environment, social cost benefit analysis and regulation.
Marcel van de Berg works as a researcher for the section. He studied business administration economics and economics at the Erasmus University. At SEO Economic Research he focuses on business sector studies and cost/benefit analyses.
Freek Tewes graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in economics. After working as an investment analyst, he joined SEO Economic Research, where he is mainly involved in business sector research and regional studies.
Renza Dosker graduated cum laude in economics at the University of Amsterdam. As a junior researcher she concentrates mainly on business sector studies and cost/benefit analyses.
Daan Willebrands graduated cum laude in development economics at the University of Amsterdam. As a junior researcher he concentrates mainly on cost/benefit analyses and business sector studies.
