After her study she worked for two years as a researcher at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Policy and Operations Evaluation Department (IOB). There she was active in two impact evaluations on basic education of Uganda and Zambia. In September 2007 she started working at SEO Economic Research at the section Labour economics and education. Emina is mainly active on higher education projects. Current research topics include the monitor of the Associate degree and the monitor of removing barriers to entry to the publicly funded market of higher education (‘open bestel’). Regarding labour market issues she works on participation enhancing instruments and the role for temp work agencies in it. An overview of her public publications can be found below.
Emina studied (Development) Economics at the Vrije Universiteit and graduated in 2005. During her study she conducted a field research in Central Java and her thesis explored the Indonesian consumption using the National Socio-Economic Household Survey (Susenas).
