Ilan Akker received his BA Political Science ‘with honors’ from Leiden University in 2007. He received his MA Political Science with an average grade of 8,0 in 2008. His research interest focused on both political philosophy and political economy. His MA thesis dealt with the current moral relevance of past injustices. Ilan visited the University of California Berkeley as an exchange student in 2006. Next to his studies he worked as an advisor for a fund stimulating youth projects, as an assistant of a local political party and as a peer-educator at several high schools.

Ilan started for SEO as a student assistant in the end of 2008 and started as a junior researcher in the beginning of 2009. He is currently working on two projects: a study of the Universal Service Obligation directed at disabled people in the telecom market and a study of SMEs in the metal industry.
