Global Economics

You can approach us for independent economic research, monitoring & evaluation (M&E) frameworks, and technical assistance in international economics.

Our experts combine a research-based approach with practical solutions and tailor-made assistance to answer your questions and solve your issues. They publish in research journals, design& provide training courses, give presentations at seminars, conferences, and policy fora.

International economic research

Our international economic research helps to get insights and answer questions that you or your organization is dealing with. Our experts have experience with conducting research on economic growth, employment, investment climate, international finance, and trade. On the latter, they developed a global trade model that predicts the economic effects of any changes in trade costs (for example, due to sanctions or changes in trade agreements) on any country in the world. Combining this with input-output modeling, the model generates the direct and indirect effects of such changes on bilateral trade, GDP, employment and value added in each sector of an economy.

What are the cost and benefits of a trade agreement? What impact does migration have on the economic development of a country? These are examples of topics that our experts have recently researched.

Evaluations
Have development programmes and policies delivered the targeted results? Are they relevant, efficient, effective, and sustainable? How could development interventions be improved? These are examples of questions our M&E experts will help to answer. They assess the impact of private sector development and capacity development programmes, build or reconstruct the ‘theory of change’ behind a development intervention, prepare an evaluation matrix, and carry out an evaluability assessment of a programme in close cooperation with the client. Participation and learning by stakeholders are key features of our approach.

Technical assistance
Does your organisation or country experience challenges in its development? You know that your institution or country needs to progress and you are looking for ways how to do it. Our experts will prepare, jointly with you, a work plan and assist you in its implementation. They have experience with building monitoring & evaluation (M&E) frameworks and with providing technical assistance in the areas of public financial management, tax administration and policy, local and regional development, development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and macroeconomic reforms.
