Astrid Lensink

Astrid is a researcher in the Finance, Governance and Regulation cluster. She joined SEO Economic Research in August 2021.

Her main research areas cover financial markets, regulation, housing market, and the level and structure of executive compensation. She has also conducted research in the areas of agriculture, climate and VAT exemption. Her expertise is in data analysis and surveys. She also has extensive experience with desk research, literature studies, experiments and interviews.

Before Astrid joined SEO, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Policy at Wageningen University and Research, she completed two Master’s degrees at VU University Amsterdam: Economics and Econometrics. She completed the master’s degree in Economics cum laude. In her master’s thesis Economics, she examined the effects of monetary policy shocks on productivity growth in the US. She wrote this thesis at the Dutch central bank (DNB). One year later she wrote her second thesis at Triodos Investment Management. There she mapped the role of institutions on companies’ sustainable development goals (SDG) scores.
