Ester Barendregt
Ester Barendregt is a member of the management team at SEO Amsterdam Economics. She has 25 years’ experience in economics and finance, gained in both the public and private sectors.
Before joining SEO, Ester worked at Rabobank (2015–2025), including as chief economist at RaboResearch, and at the Ministry of Finance as a policy advisor in various fields (2001–2009 and 2013–2015). During the global financial crisis, she was a senior advisor to the Dutch Board member at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. (2009–2012). Ester studied international economics at Maastricht University (1995–2001) and, as part of that programme, also spent a year studying political science at Sciences Po Paris (1999–2000).
