Hanna Sakhno
Hanna Sakhno is a researcher in the Global Economics and Development team at SEO Amsterdam Economics, where she works on projects in international trade and macroeconomics.
Previously, she worked at the European Central Bank, focusing on macroeconomic analysis of the Russian economy under sanctions, as well as China’s innovation policies and growth model. She also held a position at the Centre for Economic Strategy, one of Ukraine’s leading economic policy think tanks, where she led projects on human capital and labour market policies and contributed to multi‑stakeholder initiatives on national economic development and the reconstruction of war‑affected regions in Ukraine.
She has co‑authored numerous policy papers on economic development and strategy, human capital and labour markets, public opinion and electoral behaviour, Ukraine’s economy under war conditions, and EU enlargement. Her project portfolio spans academia, think tanks, and EU institutions.
Hanna holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen (2025) and a Research Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Glasgow (2020).
