Julia de Groot
Julia de Groot works as a junior researcher in the Education cluster.
Julia holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Additionally, she combined this program with the first-year curriculum of the Research Master’s in International Development Studies (RMIDS), enriching her skill set with a diverse range of research methodologies. Her master’s thesis utilized a rigorous econometric approach to investigate the interplay between economic growth, climate change, and inequality.
Julia’s expertise in the field of education ranges from theoretical knowledge – both master’s programs focused on the role of education in development issues – to practical experience; Julia has taught in a variety of settings, ranging from a pre-program in Economics & Finance at the UvA, to NGOs in South Africa and Brazil, as well as Dutch secondary schools of various levels. These experiences provide a valuable basis for her analyses.
