Lieke Spaai
Lieke Spaai works as a researcher in the Healthcare & Social Domain cluster.
Lieke holds a master’s degree in Policy Economics (cum laude) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she previously earned her bachelor’s degree. During her studies, she participated in an exchange programme at City University of London.
Lieke completed an internship at the Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR), where she gained experience with policy-relevant academic research in a multidisciplinary team. She later joined SEO Amsterdam Economics as an intern in the Healthcare & Social Domain cluster, where she also conducted her master’s thesis on the labour market effects of insomnia, applying an instrumental-variables approach based on noise exposure data.
Lieke is broadly interested in socio-economic issues. With her economics background and empirical approach, she is keen to contribute to research that provides insight into current challenges within the social domain.
