Costs and benefits of a new approach to domestic violence and child abuse

In June 2015, the parliament of the Netherlands has requested a social cost-benefit analysis of the fight against domestic violence and child abuse. The State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport has promised to do a preliminary study to see if a social cost-benefit analysis is possible. At present this is impossible because no effect measurements are available on the basis of which a full cost-benefit analysis can be made.
