Market Shares of Authorized Insurance Agents 2010

About 20% of total non-life insurance premiums in the Netherlands are paid through authorized insurance agents, which manage policies on behalf of insurance companies and deal with claims. The members of the Nederlandse Vereniging van Gevolmachtigde Assurantiebedrijven (NVGA, Netherlands Association of Authorized Insurance Agents) together account for three-quarters of this market. This report presents the most important data on these firms for 2010. The joint market share of the NVGA members is growing: total premiums handled went up by almost 13% compared to 2009.
