Devi Brands

Devi Brands is an economist and researcher at SEO, working within the Competition, Aviation and Innovation cluster. His expertise lies at the intersection of environmental policy, mobility and behavior. In addition, Devi specializes in applying advanced econometric models to large datasets, such as the CBS microdata.

At SEO Economisch Onderzoek, he works on a wide range of projects for diverse clients. He frequently conducts policy evaluations for various Dutch ministries. In addition, he advises private organizations, such as industry associations, and collaborates with law firms on competition cases.

Devi also has extensive experience in designing (dynamic) surveys and choice experiments, and in translating the resulting data into valuable insights on preferences and their policy implications.

He obtained his PhD at the Department of Spatial Economics of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His doctoral research focused on the behavior of road users and how policy can influence this behavior. His scientific work has been published in leading international academic journals.
