Devi Brands

Devi Brands works as a researcher at SEO Economic Research, as part of the cluster on competition, aviation and innovation. Before Devi started at SEO, he worked on his PhD in economics at the department of Spatial Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The research of his dissertation enabled him to build expertise in collecting and managing data, setting up experiments, and in a wide variety of econometric techniques to analyse data quantitatively.

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of Amsterdam, Devi completed two masters at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, ‘Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics’ and ‘Earth Science and Economics’ (cum laude). He wrote both his master theses on how a carbon tax affects income inequality. The research of his dissertation focusses on mobility behaviour and how policy measures can affect it.
