Robbert Rademakers

Robbert Rademakers is an experienced economic researcher and evaluator in Global Economics and Development at SEO. He has strong expertise in evaluating and advising on international programmes, with a specific focus on food security, private sector development, green growth, and financial inclusion in low- and middle-income countries. He is also knowledgeable about topics related to international trade, inequality, and international migration.

Recently, Robbert has served as M&E specialist, evaluator, and advisor for various programmes funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, multilateral development banks, and NGOs. Through these projects, he has gathered practical field experience across Francophone Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Robbert is an expert in cutting-edge econometric techniques, including the design and development of RCTs and quasi-experimental research methodologies for assessing impact. Complementing this, he also has strong expertise in survey design, covering all phases from conceptualisation to implementation and subsequent data interpretation and econometric analysis.

In addition to his proficiency in quantitative methods, Robbert has a comprehensive background in various qualitative methodologies, including contribution analysis, systematic literature reviews, and case study analysis. Furthermore, he has extensive experience with cross-cultural focus group discussions and interviews.

Robbert obtained his PhD in Economics (with distinction) from Radboud University in the Netherlands, where he conducted state-of-the-art research into a broad range of socio-economic topics related to development economics such as ethnic inequality and discrimination.
