In collaboration with Atlas, SEO Amsterdam Economics has further developed the distribution model for social assistance benefits for municipalities. This has resulted in a new distribution model for 2017. The reference date for the data used during this further development was 1 January 2014. For the determination of the provisional budgets for 2017, data should be used that are as up-to-date as possible. This takes into account the fact that a municipality’s population composition may alter, as a result of which the dependency on social assistance benefits within a municipality could (possibly) change. Most data from the distribution model can be updated to 31 December 2015.

In addition to updating the characteristics, several adjustments were performed as well in order to further improve the model. This report describes the updating and adjustments.
