Long-term scenarios for Schiphol

Schiphol Group, SADC, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, the Province of North Holland and the Municipalities of Amsterdam and Haarlemmermeer have asked SEO Amsterdam Economics to conduct an exploratory study regarding the possible development of Schiphol Airport until 2040 and the related spatial consequences.

The reason for this long-term exploration is the SMASH programme for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, Schiphol and Haarlemmermeer. This vision looks at the future spatial structure of this area and discusses the measures that are needed to strengthen the area’s spatial economic quality.
