Roel has been working at SEO as a junior researcher for the Education cluster since 2023. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a research Master’s degree from the Tinbergen Institute Amsterdam/Rotterdam.
During his time as a research assistant at the Vrije Universiteit and Erasmus Universiteit, Roel gained extensive experience in working with large datasets and conducting quantitative analyses. For his thesis, Roel conducted research on the side effects of increasing the legal minimum youth wage through an extensive empirical quantitative study using data from Eurostat. During his research Master’s program, he further strengthened his knowledge of economic theory.
At SEO, Roel is involved in various education projects, including Experiment Ruimte in Onderwijstijd, School & Omgeving and Heterogene brugklassen en capaciteitentesten.
