This report describes the development of a short and medium-term forecasting model for Dutch airports. The model, which has been developed for the Netherlands Institute for Transport Policy Analysis, estimates the future demand for transport based on various macroeconomic variables. It also calculates the effects of a change in supply at one or more airports in the Netherlands or the border region, enabling the shift in demand in the Dutch market to be estimated if the number of flights at a regional airport increases or fares decrease.
