Pedro Romão

Pedro Romão is a researcher in the SEO’s Global Economics and Development team. He has extensive international experience in the fields of policy economics, international macroeconomics, and development economics.

Prior to joining SEO, Pedro was an Economic Researcher at the United Nations Economic and Social Committee for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) in Bangkok, Thailand. He co-authored numerous policy papers and research reports on topics such as global value chains, regional integration, digital trade, and sustainable development. In addition, Pedro previously worked as a Teaching Assistant at Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where he taught international economics, microeconomics, and statistics.

Pedro holds a cum laude Master’s in Policy Economics from Erasmus University of Rotterdam (2018), where he developed a model to study the impact of inequality on secular stagnation. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon, Portugal).
